Biography

Sam Perone was born in Rockford, Illinois, where he attended St. Thomas High School and Rockford College. He completed his Chemistry Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin and then joined the faculty of Purdue University. After rising to the rank of Full Professor of Chemistry, Perone moved to the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, where he became Associate Division Leader for Analytical Sciences. Perone then joined the faculty of San Jose State University, serving for a time as Associate Dean for Research in the College of Science.

Perone has published well over 100 research articles in analytical chemistry and chemometrics; and he has co-authored two textbooks, Digital Computers in Scientific Instrumentation, and Digital Electronics and Laboratory Computer Experiments.

Since 1999, Perone has been an independent technical consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area and has become an award-winning author. To date, he has published six adult novels: The StarSight Project, Crisis on Flight 101, Einstein's Tunnel, Murder Almighty, Judgment Day, and Shoot the Moon. A young adult novel: Youthanasia. A children's book: Star of the Future. A short Christmas book: Mrs C: A Holiday Fantasy. And two memoirs: Growing Up Catholic in the Twentieth Century. (a 1940s - 1950s memoir), and Turned On! (a 1960s Memoir).

Sam Perone and his wife, Sylvia, live in the Sierra Foothills of Northern California.
